Through the heart of the Yosemite Valley is The Merced River. It splits the two sides of the granite cliffs and all of the waterfalls surrounding feed into it. Even though it is not large, it is quite picturesque, but what isn't there?

This image was taken while standing on the Swinging Bridge. No, it doesn't swing, but I'm guessing it did at one time. The view was quite beautiful, with the clear running river, the open meadows of the valley and the ominous Yosemite Falls in the background. The rain (see the drops in the river?) did not take away from it at all.

A month later, it's hard to believe we were even there. Like a dream, really. At one point I had thought to leave my proper camera at home - I'm glad I didn't. Only one lens and one body, but grabbing shots like this one are so good to keeping the trip real for me.
