As I was driving to Lake Graham in Jackson, TN, this morning, I was also cursing my Weather Underground app. It told me first light was 6:45 and sunrise was 7:15, but I left the house at 5:30 or so, made one stop and by the time I was approaching the turn off of the main road to go back to the lake, the sky was blowing up with light. Beautiful light. And I was driving. Maybe it was the Daylight Savings Time thing that was screwing everything up, but I just knew I had missed the good light.
Fortunately, I was wrong. Yes, the sky was blowing up, but it stayed blowing up for the better part of an hour, making the job of finding good pictures so easy, even I could do it!
My first spot was this fishing pier. I had shot around it a couple of times before, but nothing really worked well...until this morning, when the best colors in the sky framed it up beautifully. Had to work my way around some anglers on the other side of the trees on the left as their trucks and brake lights were very much in the way. But I managed!
Some badly needed shutter therapy for sure, and it went a long way!
