Our first location as a complete NXNW group in The Smokies was the Roaring Fork Motor and Nature Trail just outside of Gatlinburg, TN. The very first stop along the trail is the Noah Ogle Place, a cabin and barn built at the end of the 1800s . The old cabin and barn still look pretty good, but to think of living on this homestead at the the turn of the century, in these mountains, is a bit daunting. Yeah, beautiful, but winters and weather had to be a bear out there! Oh yeah, bears, too!

On our visit, there was still some good fall color left in the trees surrounding the place and I really liked this tree just the side of the cabin! Yes, beautiful, but...
