Such mixed emotions about snow. If another flake did not fall in Lexington, it would not be a disappointment to me. However, photographically, it's nice when the local landscape looks different and snow can definitely provide that.
As much of the state north of us got a pretty good pounding, we were only greeted with a light dusting Sunday morning. Even still, the ground was mostly covered and it sure added some beauty to the drab winter forest in Natchez Trace State Park. The kudzu on the forest floor seemed to grab the snow and hang on, giving a pretty cool contrast to the pines.
Much like some of the work we did in The Smokies, shooting this morning was run and gun, although at a very slow pace as I was looking for unique spots in the woods. The Sony 24-105mm f/4 lens paired with the A7II really worked well here as it's versatility allowed me to grab wide shots as well as some in the distance, like this one shot at 105mm. And the shots are quite sharp all of the way through and in the corners. I'm very much liking this lens.
